The ingredients are well combined to create a good hair product, the aloe scent is not too strong for me and  there's a satisfaction on my first use. A smooth-feel on my hair as I work on the lather. A very very little dryness after rinsing maybe because I have a rebonded hair type and so I need to apply a conditioner.

What to love?

Hotel Review: Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila

Luxury room
As stated on the website: Rooms feature king or twin beds, private balconies with bay or city views, broadband internet access, coffee/tea making facilities, work desk, in-room safe, 32-inch cable TV, pay movies and minibar. Rollaway bed is permitted.
• A spacious bathroom with rain shower
• Sofitel’s signature MyBed
• The room measures 42 square meters

Luxury room. Not that big or spacious. I feel that their room rates are too pricey.
Room rate range from Php 8,000 - 11,000(with lounge access or other packages inclusion)

Balcony (view from balcony). We stayed at the 7th floor, not sure of which wing we are at but facing SM Mall of Asia and a glimpse of Manila Bay from the right.

Bed. We are supposed to have a King size bed, but due to unavailability we got
2 single beds joined together. The bed and pillows are too fluffy for me.
You could call in to change your pillows but I did not bother to request anyway.

Toilet/Restroom/Shower/Toiletries. No bidet. No bath tub. Shower rain type and hand shower. Enough supply of  (bath, face, hand) Towels + 2 bath robes + 2 slippers.  (Les Notes de Lanvin products) 2 hand soaps, 1 lotion, 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner, 1 body wash. Shower caps, sewing kit, buds, cotton pads.(We only got 1set of toothbrush and toothpaste? Seriously for a couple? LOLs) plus 2 complimentary bottled water.

Mini Bar/Refrigerator. Chips, Liqour, Sodas, Chocolates, etc available but has a price tag on it. Complimentary tea and coffee available.
Outdoor view. The swimming pool is inviting. Nice landscape especially the view of Manila Bay.

Breakfast Buffet. They have a lot to offer. American, Chinese, French, Japanese, Filipino, Indian, I can't remember what else I'm missing. There's a separate room for cheese and cold cuts. It was great. Everything is a must try. Why not when it's free + it's a buffet c'mon!

The location is pretty good since it is a few kilometers away from the busy streets, main roads or highways. The swimming pool, golf and sunset bar has the perfect view of Manila Bay. This hotel offers an excellent service and accommodating staff but it's the room that is lacking. I think it's quiet small for the price. Overall it was a good experience.

What to love?
♥ Swimming pool. View of Manila Bay. Well maintained facilities.
♥ Excellent service. Accommodating staff.
♥ Spiral Buffet. Food. Wide range of food choices.
♥ Location.

Sharing: One Day Walk without Shoes

photo credit to Toms Philippines Facebook page

This is an annual event by TOMS where we take off our shoes to raise global awareness for children's health and education. (www.toms.com/onedaywithoutshoes)

You too can make a difference. Feel free to join in this once a year event. No registration fee. All you need is your barefoot. For more info, visit TOMS Philippines Facebook page.

I took a walk yesterday together with the Hanson fans I've met online. They have been supporting this event for 4 years and this was my 2nd time to join them. It is just another charitable act that does not require you to pay or perform or what, but just walk barefoot. Who doesn't want to spread awareness, make a difference by just walking without a shoes?

This 4th event was held at SM Aura Skypark. The assembly starts at the Sky Park, walk down to the ground level by stairs and go back up to the SkyPark.  It is a free event for all. Feel free to register when you get a chance to see it happening around. Don't worry, free bottled waters and wet wipes are available after the walk. See you next time!

This is about More Than Shoes
Children lacking access to education and good health struggle to break the poverty cycle for themselves, their families and their communities.

With the complex issues surrounding poverty, there is not one solution, but many working together. We believe that shoes play an important role in helping keep children healthy, educated and moving toward opportunities for a better future.

Sharing: Story-telling with the kids

photo credit to: The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf page

I got the chance to join and volunteer with The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf - Caring Cup event and I am so happy to be a part of it. The mission is to share a little time with the kids who are currently confined in QMMC. We read books, play games, eat snacks and ended it with gift giving.

Food Finds: Ramen Hunt at Yumi Japanese Restaurant

photo credit to Yumi Japanese Restaurant fb page

This is just another Ramen Hunt day for me. But this time I was invited by my friend Icy. Ramen hunt story below.

Luckily, YUMI released a Ramen Monday promo in which all their Ramens are in Buy one Take one every Monday (or until further notice).

Everytime I go to a food place which is new to me, I always ask for their best-seller. Who doesn't? As per Kuyang Waiter, Tantanmen is one of their best selling ramen so why not give it a try.

Tantanmen Ramen.  Php340.00
Tonkotsu and tori-gara soup noodle, chassu pork belly, ground pork, peanut cream, onion leeks, quail eggs, enoki and shiitake mushroom.

The tantanmen ramen has its rich creamy taste. I think the peanut cream over power the soup. You have an option to make it spicy, or go for an extra hot. The egg can be a choice of soft or quail eggs. I like how the chassu pork belly done perfectly. Not too fat and just enough for a bowl of Ramen. You could also ask for an extra soup if you want to.

I find all the foods listed on their menu appetizing, each of them has a description which is enough to make you wonder what they could offer, that's why I made an extra order of their Aspara Kani Maki. I was enticed when I saw the word "cheese". As a cheese lover, I can't resist to try it.

Aspara Kani Maki. Php240.00
Asparagus, crab sticks, sliced cheese, lemon zest and bonito flakes.

The moment the Aspara Kani Maki landed on our table, I grabbed a piece of it and ate it. The cheese easily melts as I chew, the asparagus adds crunchiness, while the crab sticks, lemon zest and bonito flakes add a wonderful flavor to it.

I hope I could go back here with my husband.

Location: Unit 202 Greenhills Shopping Center, Promenade 3, West Crame, San Juan
Price: 350-500
The bright wife side note: It is located at the mezzanine, from the escalator facing the cinema, go left and take the stairs going up.

The Ramen Hunt Story. (short story)

It was My husband who introduced me with this satisfying food.
He first tasted the best Ramen of his life when he was in Japan. While overseas, he promised me that he will treat me for a bowl ramen when he comes back home.

After a few months in Japan, he's finally back here and as he promised - a treat to a ramen house. But the problem was, he don't know where in the Philippines has the best ramen. Right then our ramen hunt started.

Food Finds: Cronuts by Bronuts

Cronut is a croissant-doughnut pastry invented and trademarked by Dominique Ansel Bakery in New York City. The pastry is made by frying a dough in grape seed oil, which is then sugared, filled and glazed. (Wikipedia)

photo credit to bronut fb page

I've got the chance to try this cronut while I was with a friend at SM Aura. We are both curious why people are raving for it. I find it pricey but then we have decided to give it a try. Each cronuts cost P110.00.

During that time, Icy, my friend was looking for something salty and so she ordered for Super Floss. While I was craving for something sweet I was in between Pylones or Hijo de Leche. But my first choice was really Hijo de Leche.

Super Floss has a very little spice in every bite. Then the Hijo de Leche wasn't that sweet though it was filled with Pastillas. Overall, it was a good try. I'm impressed how the croissant was made because it melts in my mouth.

Location: Food on Four, 4th Level SM Aura, Bonifacio Global City Taguig

Price: P110.00

Note: If you are ordering for dine-in they will serve it in a paper plate but they are not providing any utensils.
The Bright Wife Tip: Ask for a knife and fork at Sbarro or other food stalls nearby. :D Or eat that bronut with your bare hands! Enjoy!

Fashion: Bag-on-the-go

I am a person who's always on the go which is why I want everything in its compact version. Before, most of my bag purchases were bought either because of WANT or because it's CUTE.. But as you grow old, or you become mature, you tend to look at things differently. Today, here are my take for my bag-on-the-go. (A bag I can use daily)

1. It should be light weight.
My main concern here are my shoulders. My bag-on-the-go should be lighter than any of my other bags.

2. It should have lots of pockets.
I consider those pockets as organizers. My things on the bag should be organized so as to prevent rummaging moments. I hate the feeling of removing all the things inside your bag simply to look for a handkerchief or a coin purse.

3. My umbrella should fit.
I can't go out without an umbrella. I'm just being ready for any kind of weather - like the rain or a normal sunny day.

4. Not too big, not too small most definitely not bulky.

5. It must be a cross-body bag or those with long straps that lies across my body, winds around my chest and rests the bag on my thigh.
I'm no longer a fan of hobo, or bucket bags because my shoulders are getting tired and hurt whenever I carry one. And I feel more safe with cross-body bags.

6. The price must be cheap but has a very good quality.
Long before I started working, I want all those branded bags. But until I experienced that not all of them are durable and you have to be extra careful when using them. I'm a sloppy type of person so I have to look for cheap ones.

Here's my Bag-on-the-go:

Btw, I am also considering an eco-friendly tote bag for it is much lighter and way way cheaper. Sometimes you can have one for free.

Fashion: an OOTAYD Event

I'm a hanson fan just so you didn't know.
As part of being a fan, I usually attend some fans gathering thing to connect with fellow fansons.

Btw, I am a follower of Hansonph.net. Every now and then, we celebrate Ike, Zac and Tay's birthday month. We meet up, laugh and dine but it's always with a theme. And just last week, we had to celebrate Tay's Birthday. Our theme was OOTAYD (comes from OOTD = Outfit of the Day). But the dress code was no wearing of jeans. I have a lot of dresses to choose from but my decision was to wear the most comfortable dress since the summer has just started.

My outfit: Black Racerback Skater dress with pleated skirt / Little Black Dress from Red Head
As I remember, I got that dress on sale for only 200pesos.

Accessory: Belt from Tiangge at Market! Market! for P130.00
Original price is P150, but if you will buy 2 you will get it for P260 only. So I bought two belts (beige and black) thinking I have saved some money. Just being bright, you know.

Shoes: Open Toe Black Shoes from Guadalupe Tiangge for P200.00

Here, I was so shy to pose but since I was at my hyper-ish moment that time. Picture perfect. *Grin*

Journey to Forever

Before I became a wife, I was once a bride.

Our love story (summary)
I met my husband in a fast food chain where we both worked as a service crew 11 years ago. We started as strangers, no common friends, no common interests. We went out so often but there wasn't any courtship at all. We just felt comfortable with each other and everything just happened so fast until we both realized that we are finally ready to be in a relationship. We dream, we plan, we make moments together, we are in love everyday.

My ex-boyfriend-now-my-husband were in a relationship for almost 9 years until we both decided to settle down.

A glimpse from our wedding day:
